Volunteer opportunities
Mentor a Student
Meet with a scholarship recipient once or twice a month by phone, video, or in person. Mentors listen, encourage, and help with the everyday questions students bring.
Review Scholarship Applications
Read and score applications each spring using our simple, structured rubric. Reviewers can serve remotely and complete training in about 30 minutes.
Host a Workshop
Lead a workshop on FAFSA, essay writing, interviewing, budgeting, or your professional field. We provide the outline; you bring the expertise.
Coach Interviews & Résumés
Help students prepare for scholarship interviews, campus interviews, and their first job interviews. Great for HR professionals, managers, and educators.
Support Community Events
Volunteer at scholarship celebrations, information tables, and community events across East Mississippi.
Fundraising & Outreach
Help plan events, tell our story to your network, or represent Rise Above Poverty Inc at civic clubs and churches.
